She earned the prestigious ranking of the Number One Agent for Greenville for 2017 (based on Greater Greenville MLS Sales Volume). Her hard work and passion for real estate as a Multi-Million Dollar Producer for Berkshire Hathaway Home Services C. Dan Joyner REALTORs since 2003 has helped position Melissa for this ranking. Additionally, for the past ELEVEN consecutive years, Melissa was also named the Number One Agent for ALL of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services C. Dan Joyner REALTOR’s company wide and was also named the General Brokerage Agent of the Year for 2016 from the Home Builders Association of Greenville. In 2022, Melissa also received the Berkshire Hathaway Home Services C. Dan Joyner REALTOR’s ten year legend awards as well as the President’s award. Importantly, she is a Certified Relocation Specialist, helping both buyers & sellers with their unique set of relocation needs and objectives.
She also earned the distinction as a Luxury Collection Specialist for meeting the professional standards set by Berkshire Hathaway Home Services for sales professionals who successfully list, market and transact sales of Fine Homes. Berkshire Hathaway’s definition of a Fine Home is a residence valued at $550,000 and up.
A native South Carolinian, she also knows the market, having lived with her husband of 25 years, Tony, and children, Ashley, age 23, Hannah, age 19, and Ty, age 15, in the Simpsonville area for the last 25 years. A graduate of the University of South Carolina‘s School of Journalism in 1993, Melissa uses her education and skill set to achieve results for her clients. She attends Fellowship Greenville, and works out every day at B3 Strength and Performance off Woodruff Road. Her children attend Southside Christian School and the College of Charleston. Her oldest, Ashley, graduated from Lee University in May 2021.
Melissa is an avid fundraiser for Susan G. Komen (SGK) Foundation having lost her mother to breast cancer in the summer of 2014. She spearheads an annual event called “Bourbon For Boobs” with local businesses and vendors and intends to raise $60,000 for TEAM SAMMIE this October. Last year, she raised over $50,000 for the cause earning TEAM SAMMIE as the #5 team in the country for SGK. Her mother, Sammie Sweeney-Ferrigan, who was also a real estate agent in the Lowcountry, fought a 6-year battle with stage 4 breast cancer.
